Plastic waste pollution is a serious and current issue we are facing worldwide.
Here in Mallorca, the Balearic Islands government has taken radical steps in planning to ban all disposable plastics by 2020. In the Balearics alone, 1.5m plastic bottles are consumed and discarded every day.
We have teamed up with Cleanwave.org to be part of an initiative to reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles in the Balearic Islands.
Cleanwave.org is non-profit organisation that is on a mission to make drinking water freely accessible across the Balearic Islands and minimising plastic waste through the sale of stainless steel bottles. This is be done by creating a network of public refill stations where the public have access to refill their bottles.
Being part of this initiative, new shiny stainless steel bottles have been distributed to our colleagues at our offices in Mallorca.
We hope by taking this first step we can make a small difference. “Big things have small beginnings”. Let´s create a better and cleaner world.
